"Democracy as a Commons: European landscape of new forms of citizens co-creation and participation”

CitizensLab online workshop about co-creation, systemic change and democracy as a commons

CitizensLab is calling for other practitioners across wider Europe to experience, reflect, action-research and get to know about CitizensLab´s vision and approaches to initiate and sustain citizens led co-created Labs that address the complexity of society and the systemic structures that generate injustice and inequality.

In our 1st workshop, we hosted an interactive dialogue to explore the potential of citizens co-creation with Alice Priori and Martin Pairet from the CitizensLab; why and how we can think and act democracy as a commons with the input of Professor Stavros Stavrides (National Technical University of Athens, School of Architecture) and why a system change approach is necessary to reinvent our democracy with the input of Louise Armstrong (Forum for the Future) and Phoebe Tickell (advisor at the International Bateson Institute).

We are in the middle of a global ‘crisis that is democratic, ecological, spiritual, and cultural. CitizensLab e.V. is action-researching and creating the space (online and offline) for diverse actors of change to meet, peer-learn, unlearn, experience, and experiment together, across wider Europe.
We are seeking at creating an open platform where we can build deeper relationships and take individual and collective care of this global cultural metamorphosis and transformation of our values, principles, and ways of living and organizing.

Through building deeper connections and relationships based on trust, care, mutuality, and reciprocity CitizensLab e.V. aim at creating a “culture of citizens co-creation” around environmental, social, and cultural commons. We aim at facing the complex challenges of our time through collective radical reimagining and prototyping regenerative communities, interconnected across Europe, that can cultivate new ways of being, behaving, and interacting as a just and resilient society.
