APERO partners meeting APERO_Youth participation and Organisational resilience European Job Shadowing project to peer-learn practices about hosting and holding Transformative Spaces ERASMUS+ PROJECT 2025-2026 Alliance for Participation, Empowerment, and Resilient Organizations - JOB SHADOWING About the project APERO is a European cooperation project that brings together five civil society organizations from Germany, Spain, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Serbia to exchange knowledge and strengthen practices around community participation, youth leadership, and organizational resilience. The project explores how organisations can create and sustain transformative community spaces, strengthen youth participation and shared responsibility, and develop more resilient ways of organising and financing their work. Through 22 job-shadowing mobilities, partners exchanged practices around participatory and horizontal governance, rural youth work, workcamps and volunteering, arts and cultural spaces, community-centre management, communication and outreach, and sustainable organisational models. A particular focus has been on learning across urban and rural contexts: how physical spaces can foster belonging and participation, how communities can share responsibility for them, and how stronger relationships and reciprocity can be built between organisations, places and communities across Europe. Beyond exchanging methods, APERO is building a long-term network of grassroots organisations committed to participation, community-led transformation and mutual learning.
