Centering Mental Health in times of Crisis

Workshop on Re-Centering Mental Health in Times of Social Collapse, facilitated by Collective Care Berlin and organized by Educat Kollektiv.

Workshop by Collective Care Berlin

In a world unraveling—ecologically, politically, socially—we are being called not to return to “normal,” but to grow new ways of being. These are not just skills; they are capacities of the nervous system, imagination, and spirit that help us respond to collapse with depth, dignity, and collective care.

Collective Care Berlin team (an initiative of CitizensLab) designed and hosted this one-day experiential workshop, in collaboration with Educat Kollektiv and the project Skills4Crisis.

About the workshop

This workshop invites us to explore mental health not as an isolated personal issue, but as something deeply shaped by collective trauma, systemic collapse, and the grief of living in a world marked by violence, genocide, and ecological destruction. We will practice being with discomfort, nurturing collective care, and building emotional resilience that honors the reality of structural harm.

Through exploring witnessing practices and playful connection, participants discover tools to collectively hold pain, joy, and complexity. To challenge the myth of individual pathology and lean into collective healing and resistance.
